In the spring of 1994, Lt.-General Roméo Dallaire was the Force Commander of a small, under-funded, and ultimately doomed UN peacekeeping mission in Rwanda. Despite Dallaire's repeated attempts to convince the international community to intervene, the world turned its back as over 800 000 people were brutally killed in less than a hundred days.

Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Roméo Dallaire not only tells the story of the Canadian officer's tragic experiences during 1994, but also that of Dallaire's traumatic return to Rwanda in 2004 for the 10th anniversary of the genocide. Riveting and heart-breaking, Shake Hands with the Devil has won an Emmy Award, Sundance Film Festival Audience Award, and Best Picture Editing Gemini Award.
