Chef School is an award-winning 26-episode television series set in the pressure cooker environment of Canada’s most prestigious and grueling cooking academy. It’s one part coming-of-age story, one part gastronomic finishing school – a frenetic crash course that throws together individuals of various backgrounds, ranging from valedictorians to addicts, to find out whether they have what it takes.

Filmed over the course of two years with the same characters, a high shooting ratio and no narration, Chef School presented some fascinating structural challenges in the edit suite. It has been broadcast in multiple countries and recently won a Gemini Award, Canada’s Emmy equivalent.
